学術変革B の第１回領域会議を開催しました。

2023年1月25-26日、札幌にある北広島クラッセホテルにて、第１回領域会議を開催しました。寒波の影響でハラハラしましたが、無事に集まることができ、熱い議論を展開することができました。

昆虫の共生細菌、顕微鏡、MEMS、物理モデル、アリの社会、DNA比較解析、などなど、幅広い分野の研究が融合し、新しい何かが生まれそうな予感がします。

領域アドバイザーの野村先生、辻先生、招待講演者の竹下さん、阿部さん、素敵な講演をありがとうございました。

和田研の学生さんが3Dプリンタでドリル細菌の模型をつくってくれました。柔らかい素材でできているので、べん毛を変形させて遊ぶことができます。

On January 25-26, 2023, we held the 1st area meeting at the Kitahiroshima Classe Hotel in Sapporo. A cold wave had us on edge, but everyone made it safely and we had some lively discussions.

Insect symbiotic bacteria, microscopy, MEMS, physical models, ant societies, comparative DNA analysis, and more: research from a wide range of fields came together, and it feels like something new is about to be born.

Thank you to our area advisors Prof. Nomura and Prof. Tsuji, and to our invited speakers Takeshita and Abe, for their wonderful talks.

Students from the Wada lab made models of the drill bacterium with a 3D printer. They are made of a soft material, so you can play with them by bending the flagella.
