BLASTで上村くんがポスター発表賞を受賞しました

2025年1月19-24日にメキシコのカンクンで開催された BLAST XVIII で、上村くんがポスターを行いました。BLAST とは、bacterial locomotion and signal transduction の略で、細菌の運動や情報伝達に関する研究者の国際会議です。

海外の発表は2回目でしたが、楽しく発表できたようです。私も大学院生のときに参加して、とても楽しかった記憶があります。いろいろな締切と重なり、ポスターが間に合うか心配でしたが、最終的にはとても綺麗な仕上がりになりました。

なんと、ポスター賞も受賞したそうです。評価してくださったみなさまありがとうございます。この賞はポスター発表で2位になった大学院生に送られます。スポンサーはMicrobiologyという微生物の専門誌です。昔からよく読んでいる雑誌なので、とっても嬉しいです。

あいた時間にみんなでビーチとプールに行ったそうです。日本からの参加者は2-3人しかいなかったようですが、その分、海外のみなさんと交流できたのでしょう。

Uemura presented a poster at BLAST XVIII, held in Cancún, Mexico, on January 19-24, 2025. BLAST stands for bacterial locomotion and signal transduction, and it is an international meeting for researchers working on bacterial motility and signaling.

It was his second presentation abroad, and it sounds like he had fun. I attended this meeting as a graduate student too, and I remember enjoying it a lot. It overlapped with various deadlines, so we were worried whether the poster would be ready in time, but in the end it turned out beautifully.

And he won a poster award! Thank you to everyone who evaluated his work. This award goes to the graduate student who places second in the poster presentations. It is sponsored by the microbiology journal Microbiology. I've been reading this journal for a long time, so I'm really happy.

In their free time, everyone went to the beach and the pool. Apparently there were only 2-3 participants from Japan, but that probably meant more chances to connect with people from overseas.
